Using quotes to spark the inner designer...

 It never ceases to amaze me that you can find something to spark the inner designer almost anywhere... sometimes it's pretty obvious and at other times the linkage is pretty obscure, and usually it is completely unexpected! The picture on the left is a quote in chalk at the lovely cafe where we went for breakfast on Sunday. Merry Christmas has gone ...now we can head into the New Year

What a lovely time of the year Christmas and New Year are... in my life, it's winding down from work and being able to concentrate on developing and creating new ideas. Then there are the markets!. Christmas in the Park ended in a very wet windy evening which was a real pity as the general vibe was terrific and those people who did venture out into the 'scotch mist' were all very good-humoured and prepared to enjoy themselves despite the unfortunate weather. Stunning Christmas Angels ready for sale

 Christmas is approaching at a gallop ans these decorations have just been finished to sell. All original one-off creations they are pretty cute...The tree decorations on the left are stitched on felt .. They are in sets of four: gold or red on black, red variegated, bright red or dark red  and green on white. I'll probably keep making these sets until I run out of the red frames... they look fantastic on a christmas tree, I'm not sure if the frames are still available as these ones are about 15 years old... they have a great retro feel.   Then there are there...

3d Deer covers. Combining metal, machine and hand embroidery

The markets are in full swing (weather permitting) and the run through to Christmas has begun. Recently we've been adding to the accessories.... starting with the covers... not solely cushion covers these work really well as covers for folded blankets and throws... because of this and to keep the cost down, we sell them without inners. Creating little 'art works' on covers with embroidery, hand work and sometimes some metal .. while ensuing there is some 3D element to give them extra  visual interest while also making sure they are truly 'one offs'. The covers made with a  blanket base... repurposing finds at some...
