What a busy long summery weekend...

Happy Anniversary to the old Auckland Province and thank goodness where I live was once part of that area, even if it is no longer.... we still get to benefit from their anniversary day and gain a lovely long weekend at the end of every January. And what a lovely fine weekend it has been. We have spent our time finishing off items for the market next weekend and working out what we need to take (the thought of fitting it all into my Golf is still a bit of a worry but we'll manage) This being our first market...

Transparent pendants make the most of their silver backing...

The striking turquoise pendant featuring in a previous post has been joined by some others While they range from translucent with glitter in them through to faux-marble they are all pretty though in differing ways. These three new ones happened to be at hand when Barisa Photography was wanting subjects for experimenting with a new lens. The pendants have different embossed patterns and with the light reflecting off the back of the cabochon and back out... the effect is very eye-catching. Of course they also look great when contrasted against either black or white.

Little dolls with huge personalities!

These cute little dolls are also going to make an appearance at the Little Big Market..they are about 3 cm tall and each has a distinct theme, music, unhappy or perhaps unwell, little sunshine, waiting to be finished are... computer geek with 'pacman' on her dress, lightning, and 'what?' with a question mark dress. The ones in the picture have an overall  speckled effect and the next ones just made today are translucent. Again.. like the robots... they all seem to take on their own individual personality...These ones looked like they needed a bit more definition so the highlights were coloured with...

Pastel colourway joins the robot army

We're hoping to have a large range of robots at the Little Big Market on the second...so... Waiting to join the others are these pastel ones which still need finishing and bails glued on, but they looked so jolly cute they were worth an entry on their own. The army is slowly growing... we also want to have some which are richly coloured but translucent... no sparkles just colour... watch this space!
