Creating different individual embroideries is hugely enjoyable... deciding the colour combinations and the positioning, and seeing how far I can let my sense of humour meander also finds favour...However I'll have to admit that the finishing ..in this case making covers...not so much..in fact I put the moment off until I really HAVE to get on and stop putting the job off, procrastinating and diverting into more interesting ventures.. Developing the 'pointing finger' cushion series continues...

So just as our last cushion... no kiwiana here! ...is sold we are asked if we will display and sell some in the artistic venue (Creative Tauranga) where we already have jewellery on show and for sale. As always I'm amazed anyone could 'get' the humour of the cushions let alone want them but hopefully people looking at them will be as amused as I was while designing and making them!                                                              ...

A banner for every crafty purpose

The Barisa stall was started to sell jewellery we made at the Little Big Markets. We decided we needed to have a banner which seemed to be 'the thing' every stall holder had, in one form or another, but we also needed to let people know who we were and to have something which would help them identify where our site was at future markets. So we embroidered a banner with our name and then used the same image at the top of our business cards. Starting the great catch-up.

So the lack of posts since September last year has not meant that the life for Barisa has been bland, boring and not filled with design and crafty activity. Barisa has been uber-busy creating, filling commissions and making new stock for the markets which have managed to stretch from one a month at this time last year to at least two a month now. There have also been frequent extras which are usually collaborations between The Little Big Markets... who we support... and other entities, Tauranga City Council, National Jazz Festival, Papamoa Holiday Camp... not forgetting the amazing people who invited us to...
