Crochet... a bright spot on a winters day

On a day that ended up being pretty cold and uninspiring it was fun to finish the second half of this scarf. Rows of open trebles interspersed with pops of contrasting colours done in double crochet (or double and single crochet respectively if you are from the USA).. the teal, rust, ginger and dark brown 'pop' a little more than is obvious in the photo and the final scarf is about 1.20 metres long... Hopefully the edges of the wool will gradually fray out a little. The scarf has a pretty useable combination of colours... it should complement most outfits.

First Little Vintage Market for winter

Saturday was the first day of the Winter Little Vintage Markets in the Senior Citizens Hall at the Mount. While it was a lovely wintry start to the day it managed to appear distinctly summery by the middle of the day and a few of lovely people passing by who stopped to chat wondered if we'd prefer to be in the position of the other market in the Field (by Zespri). There is something lovely about the atmosphere and vibe of the Vintage Market.. even the slightly unloved hall with the very retro if not vintage furniture is most appropriate...

Cutest crochet slippers for littlies

This simple slipper pattern is sure to become a favourite in our family... Simply constructed with 3 differing sized squares they could also have soles attached to make them last a little longer... I've found they can be very simply resized once you have am a couple of pairs... Right up to adult size. If you'd like the pattern just comment or message me.
